Even certain taxpayers with no qualifying children can receive the Earned Income Tax Credit. You may still qualify, below are the limits for the Earned Income Tax Credit in 2016...
Earned income and adjusted gross income must each be less than:
$14,880 - if you are filing Single, Head of Household or Widowed...with zero qualify children
$20,430 - if you are filing Married Filing Jointly...with zero qualify children
Investment income must be $3,450 or less for the year.
The maximum amount of credit for Tax Year 2016 is:
- $6,269 with three or more qualifying children
- $5,572 with two qualifying children
- $3,373 with one qualifying child
- $506 with no qualifying children
