The statement above is incorrect --
**There is no "IRS Approved Value".**
The IRS publications and instructions clearly state that there is no fast rule for the amount to determine FMV. Eg, your jeans could be "well used" and Walmart brand, valued at $0 (see the tax code change 2006 requiring the item to be in good condition, current style etc" ... or you could donate a nearly new pair of Calvin Kleins, that you paid $120 for and maybe the FMV is $60.
Bottom line is, any donation guide (including It's Deductible) is simply that, its a GUIDE.
