I'm not sure what you mean by a "PC status" but they are deductible if the booster club is part of the school or a separate Sec. 501(c)(3) approved entity. Only they can tell you if they are or not.
An exception is they are not deductible if paid for your son's uniform or equipment, or a requirement of his participating on the team.
