The Form 5498-SA (contributions to your Health Savings Account (HSA), Archer MSA, or Medicare Advantage MSA) is just for informational purposes and doesn't need to be entered into TurboTax. Please keep it for your records.
Here's how to enter your 1099-SA form (distributions from your MSA or HSA):
- With your return open in TurboTax, search for 1099-SA (upper- or lower-case, with or without the dash).
- Click the Jump to 1099-SA link in the search results.
- This will take you to the Select the health-related accounts you had screen.
- Check the box for the type of account you have (it may already be selected for you) and click Continue.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the form.
