Yes, you can deduct job search expenses under certain conditions defined in this IRS document:

You can enter this mileage for job search by following these steps:
  • In TurboTax, open your tax return
  • Click on Federal Taxes, then on Deductions & Credits
  • Under All Tax breaks, locate the section Employment Expenses and click on Show more
  • Click Start next to Job expenses for W-2 Income
  • Follow the interview until you arrive at the page titled Job-related Expenses (see attached screenshot)
  • Describe the cost as mileage for job search. You can claim mileage at 54 cents per mile.
