Yes, you can deduct job search expenses under certain conditions defined in this IRS document:

- In TurboTax, open your tax return
- Click on Federal Taxes, then on Deductions & Credits
- Under All Tax breaks, locate the section Employment Expenses and click on Show more
- Click Start next to Job expenses for W-2 Income
- Follow the interview until you arrive at the page titled Job-related Expenses (see attached screenshot)
- Describe the cost as mileage for job search. You can claim mileage at 54 cents per mile.
