Why would Turbotax recommend Standard Deduction in lieu of Itemized Deductions when my taxes are about $1000.00 lower using Itemized Deductions? .

Why would Turbotax recommend Standard Deduction in lieu of Itemized Deductions when my taxes are about $1000.00 lower using Itemized Deductions? .
It appears that the difference is in the AMT.
