Deductions & credits
The donations will only qualify for a tax deduction if they were made to a qualified charitable organization. If the organization qualifies as a charity, you'll enter the trophies as noncash contributions (items). To do this:
- Continue your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click Tax Tools (lower left side of your screen).
- Select Tools.
- In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
- In the search bar, type donations.
- In the results box, highlight donations, then click GO.
- You'll land on the Donations to Charity page. Click Yes.
- Follow the onscreen instructions. When you get to the Let's enter your donations one at a time screen, enter the name of the charitable organization, then click Add next to Items. (Click the screenshot below for reference.)
- Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the information about the trophies you donated to charity.
How do I enter my charitable donations in TurboTax? https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4797927Note: If using the TurboTax CD/Download software, you'll use the Find function and the "Jump to" link (instead of "Tax Tools") to search for the topic.
