I itemize my deductions. I have $10,000 in local taxes and $15,000 in mortgage interest. I also have several hundred in charitable donations.
I expect my refund to increase with every charitable deduction I enter. I noticed that I can enter a $40 donation and my refund will stay the same. I went back and changed the donation from $40 to $50 and my refund increased by $12. What's going on here. Shouldn't any deduction increase my refund?
