Enter each 1098 form as it is reported. You can leave the Box 2 (outstanding mortgage principle) blank if your outstanding mortgage principal balance is under $1 million. If it's over that amount, there are limitations to the deduction.
Also, if the new loan was taken out after 1/1/2017, then you can leave it blank.
