Bought a home in Illinois in 2016. Received a tax credit(based on estimated 2015 taxes, which are paid in 2016) from sellers at closing, but the taxes paid were about $1000 less than we actually had to pay, once the bills came out. Can I deduct the $1000 on my taxes, since I did actually pay them?
