You can deduct the sales tax on your new car purchase if you itemize your deductions. The total of your itemized deductions would need to be greater than your standard deduction to receive a tax benefit.
To navigate to the Sales Tax section:
- Sign into your account and select the 'Take me to my return' button
- Type 'sales tax' in the search box, then select the 'jump to' link.
Then continue to enter the sale taxes paid for your new car.
