To adjust the amount of your prior year refund which was applied to 2018 taxes, while in your return:
- Type "estimates paid" in the Search box
- Click on "Jump to estimates paid"
- On the "Estiamtes and Other Income Taxes Paid" page scroll down to "2017 refund applied to 2018 federal taxes"
- Click on Start
- You should be able to adjust the amount of your 2017 refund applied to 2018
