Yes, that would qualify for a residential energy credit. You can claim a tax credit for 10% of the cost of qualified energy efficiency improvements, but the maximum credit is $200 total for all years from 2006 to this year for windows and doors.
To see where to enter this:
- Go to the top of your screen and choose My Account.
- Choose Tools.
- Choose Topic Search, then type in your topic (Home Energy Improvement) and click Go. Answer the questions in the screens that follow.
