My company made a mistake and deducted Yonkers local tax from my payslips so this is appearing as local tax paid on my W-2. I didn't work or live in Yonkers in 2025 and have no Yonkers income.
So I need to get this money back.
TT is showing an error and is suggesting I select Yonkers Income Yes, but if I do this the amount I owe the state goes up by the nearly amount of local taxes I paid by mistake.
1. This doesn't seem right, is it?
2. Will TT allow me to submit electronically if I leave it as No and get this "error"?
