Deductions & credits
Even if you do not have a 1099-DIV, you will need to enter your foreign dividends as if you had one. To enter it in TurboTax:
- Go to the Did you have investment income? screen under Wages & Income
- Select Yes
- Select +Add investments if you arrive at one of these screens:
- Let’s finish pulling in your investment income
- Select Enter a different way, and select Type it in myself to manually enter the iFollow the on-screen instructions to enter the info from your 1099-DIV.
- At the bottom of the page, click the box for My form has info in other boxes (this is uncommon).
- This will bring up a new set of boxes.
- Post foreign taxes in Box 7
