Regular Roth Contributions being coded as Excess!
Hello! Filing Head of Household. Earned Income was $67,777.00.
On the IRA Contribution Worksheet, I list my (Roth) Ira contributions, line 19 as $7800. It's my regular contribution. The remaining $200 went into an IRA.
For the record, I did about $20K in Roth Conversions in 2025.
$7800 is populating correctly down to line 27, Total Roth Contributions = $7800.
However, moving down to line 30, it's listing this contribution as excess.
On the Roth Contribution Limit Worksheet, it doesn't populate at all.
On the IRA Deduction Worksheet, the $7800 is listed as my contribution.
Does that IRA/Roth conversion inflate my income enough that I don't qualify for Roth contributions? It's causing $468 in taxes. I can still take it back, but I'd prefer not to.
What am I doing wrong to cause my contributions to be switched to Excess?
Thanks
