Deductions & credits
I came to the forum looking for a way to report this as a bug to Turbotax, but can't find a way to do it. In previous years the amortization was automatically added into the "other" line in the expense list. But this year the IRS added the Form 8825 Schedule A to feed into that line. On the IRS form, there is still a line for "other" on the Schedule A, but Turbotax does not include this line or have any way to enter any expenses that do not fit one of the predefined categories. Amortization does not have a defined line on the new IRS form, and Turbotax has not created a way to add anything to the "other" expense line on the schedule A, so it seems to just disregard the amortization. This is a mistake in the software and needs to be corrected, but I can't find any way to submit the bug to Intuit for review.
