If the WSJ is not a condition of employment or continued employment, then it's not a deductible expense. I also seriously doubt the subscription cost will ever exceed 2% of your AGI too, meaning even if you can claim it and do so, it will not make any difference what-so-ever on your bottom line tax liability.
