@NCperson @pk interesting. Back decades ago, when there were no PC's, internet and you could carry the entire IRC in one hand, there was a court case about a somewhat similar issue. H&W claimed only enough in schedule A real estate taxes to avoid the AMT. The court said too bad you must use the entire amount even though it creates AMT. I don't know if this was appealed. I felt that the court decision was wrong.
