Does TurboTax facilitate entering Irish Ss income separately? Also from what I read it is better to file separately from my wife rather than jointly or am I interpreting it incorrectly?
- Single Filers:
- Below $25,000: No taxes on Social Security benefits.
- Between $25,000 and $34,000: Up to 50% of your benefits may be taxed.
- More than $34,000: Up to 85% of your benefits may be taxed.
- Married Filing Jointly:
- Below $32,000: No taxes on Social Security benefits.
- Between $32,000 and $44,000: Up to 50% of your benefits may be taxed.
- More than $44,000: Up to 85% of your benefits may be taxed.
