Deductions & credits
You can go back to the TurboTax screen where you entered your property tax, and check your entries as follows:
Click on the search icon in the upper right of your TurboTax Screen
- Type "property taxes" in your search bar
- Click on the link "Jump to property taxes"
- Your screen will say, "Enter any additional property tax paid in 2024"
- Delete any incorrect entries you may have there (i.e. if you enter property taxes from your Form 1098 and here it will be doubled
- Click on your search icon in the upper right of your TurboTax screen
- Type "1098" in the search bar
- Click on the link "Jump to 1098"
- Click "Edit" next to your Form(s) 1098
- Continue through your screen to "Let's get the details from your XXX 1098"
- Check your property tax amount on that screen
