I wish there was a way to talk to an actual person at Intuit to report such bugs. Or at lease an obvious way to report potential bugs without having to made a post in this discussion, hoping that someone from Intuit will 1) see it, and 2) take is seriously enough to test it out, and 3) fix it.
This bug, in theory could have cost a user $4000 (ish): If the user has little or no income in 2024, and deduct the 8000 in 2024, he gets nothing back; but assuming he earns, say $200K in 2025, and carries over that same 8000 deduction room to 2025, he would get a tax refund of $4000 for it.
All this to say, this is not a minor bug. Fix it, Intuit.
