The AOTC on federal is only if your son states nobody else could have claimed him. This would carry over to the state. The Resident Income Tax Return Instructions states on page 7:
Enter the same Social Security number, individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN), or adoption taxpayer identification number (ATIN) for each dependent that you entered on your federal return.
