Deductions & credits

We can delete the form 8812 Credits for Qualifying Children and Other Dependents but I'm not sure it will do what you want.

  • The Child Tax Credit is a calculated number,
  • It is based on income, taxes, a qualified dependent and possible other factors.
  • If you delete the form and don't change anything else it will recalculate.
  • You will probably have to change the dependents status.

However, if you still want to delete the form:

On the menu in the sidebar on the left.

Select Tax Tools

  • Tip: You may have to minimize tabs for both Federal & State
  1. On the drop-down select Tools
  2. On the Pop-Up menu select Delete a Form
  3. This will give you all of the forms in your return
  4. Scroll down to the form you want to delete
  5. Select the Form 8812
  6. Click on Delete.
