Question regarding 1095-C
I work PT for a large employer and have been getting my insurance through the ACA for years. I also claim PTCs based on my annual income, which also consists of Roth conversion, interest, and other freelance income. My work hours historically have been below 30 a week so I have never received a 1095-C in any prior years.
In 2024, the company asked me to work more hours and they later determined (and were shocked to learn) via an internal audit (in Oct. 2024) that many employees including myself had exceeded the FT/PT threshold over the prior 12 months. They sent me a "gain of coverage" notification in Nov. 2024 (at 2025 open enrollment) to let me know I would be eligible for health insurance in 2025 but said nothing about 2024 eligibility. You can imagine my surprise when just this week I received a 1095-C (with code 1E) indicating I was offered coverage for the last 5 months of the 2024. Again, nothing was ever communicated to me in 2024.
I have already submitted my 2024 tax return. Do you think this will present a problem with my 2024 tax return (which has already been filed)?
Thanks
