Claiming the EV or Clean Vehicle Credit

1. Check Eligibility: Ensure your vehicle qualifies for the credit. Check the IRS Clean Vehicle Tax Credits page.
2. TurboTax Steps:
   • Log into TurboTax then click on the link in step 2
   • Search for "electric vehicle credit."
   • Follow the prompts to enter your vehicle details.

Claiming the EV Charging Adapter Credit

1. Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit: You can claim a credit for the cost of installing an EV charging station at your home.
2. You can enter energy-saving home improvements using TurboTax Online/Mobile, like this:
3. Go to the Energy Efficient Home Improvements screen, answer Yes and Continue. Follow the instructions on the next screens.
