You would seem to qualify for the credit even though you are filing married-separate, but it also seems you may qualify to file as head of household as well and that may be more beneficial to you. It would also likely give you the dependent care credit. For that, you would have to pay more than half the upkeep of your home, you would have to live apart from your spouse during the last six months of the year, and provide the main home for your child form whom you provide over 1/2 of their support.
