Deductions & credits

It depends Instead of entering the information on the form, enter in this manner instead.

  1. Log in to TurboTax: Open your TurboTax account and start your tax return.
  2. Go to Income
  3. Click on "Federal Taxes
  4. Wages & Income.
  5. Interest and Dividends
  6. Interest on 1099 INT
  7. As you enter information on your 1099 INT, there will be a box that says, My Form has Info in other boxes. Check that box.
  8. There will be a drop down menu from there and you will record foreign taxes in Box 6.
  9. Then two screens past, there will be a section to enter the foreign interest that was paid and the country where it was paid.  I never heard of NSW 2000 but I think it is an Australian form.  If this is the case, the country is Australia but could be another country.  If so, pick the country in the drop down.  Here is what the screen looks like.
