Deductions & credits

If the solar tax credit really reduces what’s owed then EVERY solar company is committing fraud. The solar tax credit is suppose to reduce the cost of paying for solar, which means one’s income taxable, or not has NOTHING to do with the suggested solar tax credit/refund. If my system cost $30,000 and I’m suppose to get 30% off the cost of said $30,000 in the form of a tax credit then I would be entitled to $9,000, which I can use to reduce the cost of paying for a solar system, or for whatever I want. So, that fact that I’m a 100% service connected disabled veteran receiving a nontaxable income should have no bearing on weather or not I get the tax credit. The tax is suppose to off set the cost of whatever was paid for the solar system period.
