I purchased a 2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive vehicle in March 2024. I did not receive a Clean Vehicle Seller Report as described on the IRS website, and I have so far been unable to obtain such a report retroactively from Tesla, though I have the VIN, delivery date, sales invoice, etc. Do I actually need the Clean Vehicle Seller Report in order to file for the credit? I do not see a requirement to file the report on Form 8936. Also, the credit amount is listed in various IRS publications as either $7500 or $3750, so how do I know how much to claim if I file for the credit?
