I submitted taxes last night and now I'm questioning if I answered one right but since my taxes are in the submitted state apparently I can't look at the questions/answers. The question asking if I was covered by an HDHP in the tax year is confusing because technically I am since I am on my spouse's plan but apparently that's not what the question is asking. Apparently the answer should be "No" since I am not on my own plan. (I started second guessing how I answered the question after I submitted.) If I did answer "Yes" to that question will this require amending my taxes after they are processed? I have tried chatting with TT twice and neither representative understood the question. Both said if I saved my return the information is on there, but the only thing on the saved return is tax forms (like you would mail in 1040 etc) and the agreements that allow TT to e-file. I did not enter any HSA information for myself because the HSA is under my spouse.
Yes, I should have researched better before answering, I thought I remembered this from last year but doubting myself.
