Deductions & credits
Q. It sounds like a DAF will require me to click yes on "I attached conditions on a donation", correct?
A. No. The fact that your contribution is to a DAF (also known as a Charitable Gift Fund [CGF]) does not, in itself, constitute "conditions". You enter it the same way as you would enter a contribution to a "regular" charity.
Q. Can I just enter in my DAF contribution as a stock donation?
A. Yes.
Q. I had the same issue. And then it asked me for an address for the "Schwab DAF". Are we doing this right?
A. Yes, probably. Address of the charity is a standard question, if you first identify you donation as "items".
If the value of the "items" you donated is more than $500, the IRS requires TurboTax to ask you for the address(es) of any charitable organization(s) that you donated "items" to (other than cash and certain securities).
