So I did not see the Tell Us More About This Rental Asset'. anywhere on the screen. These are steps I took:
- Navigated back to the section of Wages and Income
- Selected No for the Rental and Royalties and clicked on Continue
- Rental and Royalty Screen is displayed with options to Edit or Delete
- Clicked on Edit
NOTE: So far no Tell Us More About This Rental Asset - Review your Rental Summary screen is displayed.
Stopped here...and didn't know which way to proceed further. Essentially, the property was rented in 2022 from Feb to 10/22/22. That's it.
For entire 2023 it was not rented. To make things easy, I would be okay with letting it stay a Rental till 12/31/22 so long as it saves me the headache, but I do need to stop the rental information from stopping to display so when I do sell the property, I want to make sure it only accounts for rental for 2022 and not any time beyond that and I have it owner occupied for 2 out of the 5 years so I can get sale proceeds tax free for up to $250,000 (I think that is how it works)
Appreciate your assistance. I even tried the FORM View and am at a loss. I hope TurboTax works on this feature to make it easy for users. Thank you and I look forward to the Experts to chime in.
