No, the rules state that she must live with you the entire year, So, 2024 has already gone by.
You may be able to claim her as a dependent on your 2025 taxes, but you will not file them until 2026.
Bottom line ... Don't have her move in just to get a tax break!
To qualify her as a dependent
- Your partner must have lived with you for the entire calendar year
- She must have listed your home as her official residence for the full year.
- Her gross income must be less than $4,700 for tax year 2023.(Will probably be higher in 2025)
- She can not be claimed by anyone else as a dependent.
