I import my charitable contributions from Quicken. I often buy items from various stores and donate them to the food shelf, etc. In Quicken, the Payee is listed as the retail store. But this is not a charity, So what we have is a charity non-cash entry, but the "charity" still shows up as the retail store. My inclination is to simply code all of them as Charity in Quicken and let it go at that. So long as nothing goes over $500, it shouldn't matter, should it? That is, the detail will show "Target" as a charity, with numerous "cash contributions" to it.
