If you are referring to a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), then the amount of the distribution will be included on Form 1040 line 4a, but not line 4b.
That is how you get a tax advantage for donating the distribution to charity. Since it is not taxed on your return as income on line 4b, you do not include that amount as a charitable deduction for Schedule A.
