Residential Energy Tax Credits for Second Home 5695 Form Not Correct

The form in Turbo Tax does not allow for credits for second homes as allowed by IRS.  This error has cost me claiming the tax credit.  How do you now claim it for an installation done in 2017 when IRS does not accept amended returns over 2 year old?
