Part time resident and unemployment income
Hi,
I lived in DC until 6/31 and moved to MA 7/1. During the month of July, I received $4406 in unemployment benefits pay by DC FMLA due to my previous employment there. I have a 1099-G from DC which lists state tax income withheld of $176.
From what I understand, since I received that income while living in MA, this counts as taxable income for MA, but that I can get credit for since I was taxed in DC. How do I find out how much I'm being taxed by DC for that specific income to list it as a credit? (not sure if it's just the amount withheld listed on the DC 1099-G, or if TurboTax is also calculating additional tax owed to DC from that based on my tax bracket).
Thank you!
