To report sales tax:
- Open your Federal return.
- Go to Deductions and Credits
- Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
- Click Update next to Sales Tax.
- On the screen Let's Compare Your Sales Tax and Income Tax select Try Sales Tax Deductions anyway.
- On the following screen select Easy Guide
