Deductions & credits
There may be different interpretations of what you're referring to as "unsecured property tax."
Orange County, California, for example, refers to taxes that apply to "all business and personal property, such as aircraft, mobile homes and boats" as unsecured property taxes. See their Unsecured Taxes page.
If you're referring to taxes on this kind of property, these would be considered personal property taxes. To enter these in TurboTax Online:
- Open TurboTax Online
- Select Tax Home in the left pane
- On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the Deductions & Credits box, then select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off
- On the Your tax breaks page, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Cars and Other Things You Own
- Select Start or Revisit to the right of Personal Property Taxes
- Answer Yes on the Did you pay personal property taxes in 2023? page
- Provide all relevant information requested in the interview
See the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter my personal property tax? for entry instructions for TurboTax Desktop, and an alternate entry method for TurboTax Online.
If this isn't what you're asking about, feel free to post back.
