Deductions & credits
It depends. If you did not have any dependent care benefits received from your employer, and showing in Box 10 of your W-2, then you can certainly remove your child and dependent care expenses.
- Search (upper right magnifier) >
Follow these steps to get to the Child and Dependent Care Credit in TurboTax.
- If you're not in your return already, sign in to TurboTax and select either Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off under Deductions & Credits.
- Select the You and Your Family section.
- Select the Start/Review button next to Dependent Care Credit > Edit/Add.
- Continue to the screen where your child care company or person is listed then click 'Delete'
- Be sure to complete the section so TurboTax can recalculate the return accurately
