You can follow these steps to enter your electric vehicle purchase in TurboTax:
1. Start in the Federal section of TurboTax and then look for Deductions and Credits
2. Look for Cars and Other Things you Own
3. Choose Energy-Efficient Vehicles
4. Work through that section, you will be asked to enter the VIN of the vehicle, year of the vehicle, model and other information
TurboTax will calculate any available credit based on your answers.
