My husband and I left our apartment and moved in with my father-in-law to help cover his monthly household expenses. I pay the mortgage directly to the bank from my checking account each month while my father-in-law covers all other expenses. The house and mortgage and utilities are all in his name. Does this qualify as renting for tax credit purposes?
