Why is TurboTax asking if my HDHP lapsed in 2022 due to disability?
My family and I are covered under a health plan provided by my wife's former employer. I get this question: What type of HDHP did Jeremy have on Dec. 1, 2021? I can only answer: family, self only, or none. If I answer "none", then the next question asks what type of plan my wife had, and I answer "family." Then Turbotax asks did my wife's HDHP lapse in 2022 due to disability and notes that TurboTax sees that she had a lapse of coverage. The only answers available are that coverage ended due to disability or ended for other reasons. What? She had no lapse.
If I answer "family," then the next question asks if my HDHP lapsed in 2022 due to disability and notes that Turbotax sees that I had a lapse of coverage. I have had no lapse in coverage. No one in my family has had a lapse in coverage.
This makes no sense, and I don't know how to correctly answer because this line of questioning does not allow me to answer truthfully. This makes no sense. Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong?
