1095-A: Zeros vs. blankness

I was covered under ACA for the last half of 2022 and entered my 1095-A exactly as I received it from the Health Insurance Marketplace: All zeroes in all columns from January to June, and all positive four-digit numbers in all columns for July - December. However, at final review TT flagged all those Jan-June zeroes and said I had to change them to blanks--NO ZEROES ALLOWED in any of those rows and columns. Why does TT require these boxes to be blank, and—since it does—why doesn't the TT 1065-A entry interview either tell the user to leave zero boxes blank, or automatically convert taxpayer-entered zeroes to blankness by itself? Truly one of the least-intuitive UI features I've ever seen.
