Yes, a few other people have experienced this error, which comes from inadvertently selecting the foreign address dropdown in the 1099-R screen.
To correct this in TurboTax online:
- Open your return and make sure you are in the Federal section.
Select Wages & Income. - Find IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), on the list, click Edit/ Add to the right.
- Click Edit to the right of the problem 1099-R, or the first one if you aren't sure.
- Continue until you get to Now, let's review your 1099-R provider's info.
Look carefully at the Address type dropdown. If it says Foreign address, click the down arrow to change it back to US address. - Continue until you come back to to the 1099-R summary.
- Repeat until you find the problem.
- Once this is corrected, select Review again to confirm the issue is fixed.
