Deductions & credits

To be sure I understand.  Are you using a TurboTax individual software.

I noted in your post that you have TurboTax Business for Windows.

If this information is supposed to be posted to your personal tax return, this is not the right software.  You should have TurboTax Premiere, Self-Employed or Home and Business.

If you are using a personal software, this is the answer.

No, you cannot post your investments directly to your Schedule D.  If you were to do so it would VOID the guaranty.  You have two options in TurboTax Online.  You can import the transactions, or you can type them yourself.

Follow these steps to get to the correct area.

  1. Start at Federal
  2. Wages and Income
  3. Scroll to Investments & Savings
  4. Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B) [Start or Revisit]
  5. Did you have investment income in 2022? - Yes
  6.  Get ready to be impressed  Continue
  7. You can enter your information to import the details
  8. —----------- OR —------------------------
  9. Select Enter a different way.
  10. Choose the Box Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds Continue
  11. Follow the interview to post your information.
