Yes, you can just change the wages in Box 1 of your W2 for the year the original wages were reported. This will calculate what the original tax would have been before any repayment. This will help you calculate the credit you would be entitled to under 'Claim of Right'. Generally, Box 3 and 5 will not alter your tax return in any way because the social security and medicare taxes do not affect your tax return.
