Deductions & credits
No, you have to itemize to deduct your chiropractor visits on your tax return.
You can claim the amount you pay for health insurance as a self-employed health insurance deduction. If you have your insurance through the healthcare marketplace, click here follow those instructions instead.
- Select Federal on the left side menu.
- Under Wages & Income, find Self-employment income and expenses.
- Select Start/Edit to the right.
- On the screen titled, Your 2022 self-employed work summary, select Edit to the right of your self-employment entry.
- Click Add Expenses.
- Check the box for Health insurance premiums, scroll down and click Continue.
- Click Start to the right of Health insurance premiums.
- Enter the insurance name and amount you paid for your health insurance.
