I converted my garage in 2022 to an ADU in CA. I rented from June 2022. I tried using Turbo to take deductions for construction cost, appliances, and permit costs. However, Turbo is showing me ADU construction cost under special depreciation, but showing zero depreciation which I can take in deduction in 2022 taxes. I need help in understanding what is special depreciation? How should I file so that I can use construction cost that will depreciate every year?
